The WS Family Foundation, Inc. was established by Washington Sycip, the Founder of SGV & Co., after his retirement from the firm. It was incorporated and registered with the SEC as a non-stock, non-profit corporation on November 19, 1998. It is a family/grant-making foundation. It provides assistance to institutions engaged in basic education, health, children, culture and microfinance. Its main office is located at the 14/F SGV I Bldg., 6760 Ayala Ave., Makati City. The foundation has one regular staff, three part-time staff, and seven members of the Board of Trustees.
Its purposes, among others, are “to engage in educational projects to support basic education in the country; to support programs that uplift the economic status of Filipinos; to support health projects and extend assistance to hospitals, clinics that benefits the underprivileged; preserve Filipino-Asian culture and arts; to engage in other charitable projects for youth and children”.
This is the Foundation’s fifth (5th) renewal for PCNC Certification. The following are the dates of its certification:
1st Visit – 1 year certification – (July 26, 2000 – July 25, 2001)
1st Renewal – 3 year certification – (October 20, 2000 – October 19, 2003)
2nd Renewal – 3 year certification – (December 17, 2003 – November 1, 2007)
3rd Renewal – 5 year certification – (November 28, 2007 – November 27, 2012)
4th Renewal – 5 year certification – (December 12, 2012 – November 23, 2017)
