The Tanging Yaman Foundation, Inc. (TYFI) was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a non-stock, non-profit corporation on July 11, 1996, founded by Fr. Manoling V. Francisco, S.J. It started as an annual liturgical concert to raise funds for institutions that build and nurture poor local communities. The organization has then evolved to being a conduit foundation, bridging the generosity of countless Filipinos here and abroad funding the vital needs of their fellow men and women in the Philippines. Its office is located at Room 108, Benigno Mayo, S.J. Hall Social Development Complex Ateneo de Manila University.
Its purposes, among others, are enumerated as follows:
- “serve as a conduit between those who have and those in need by providing financial grants or development assistance to the poor and marginalized groups and individuals through its NGO or PO partners;
- nurture hope and create a culture of philanthropy among all levels of income-earning Filipinos at home and abroad by providing convenient and technologically enhanced opportunities for all income earners to donate to their preferred Tanging Yaman network of strategically-allied partner-beneficiaries;
- maintain sustainable institutional and technological linkages/avenues for receiving benefactor pledges and donations and provide material and/or financial assistance and backroom logistics and structure to NGO and PO partner-beneficiaries”
The Foundation’s programs focus on Children’s Basic Needs, Education and Formation, Environment and Livelihood, Relief and Rehabilitation and Care for the Elderly and Infirm. Geographical scope of programs: Nationwide
