Synergeia initially served as a learning circle for Ford Foundation grantees who were doing work on educational reforms. Synergeia Foundation was formally registered with the SEC as a non-stock, non-profit organization on September 24, 2002. It is a coalition of individuals, institutions, and organizations working to improve the quality of basic education. It’s main office is located at 6947 Casa Rosal, Rosal Street, Guadalupe Viejo, Makati City, it also has an office in Sikatuna Village, Quezon City.
Synergeia Foundation envisions a country where every Filipino child completes a good basic education. Its mission is to be a catalyst of change and enable every member of the community to work together so every child can enjoy his right to quality education and become a better person.” The Foundation has the following purposes: 1) provides leadership in the initiation of education reforms that strengthen the participation of local governments and community; 2) Develop partnership among parents and teachers, government departments, private sector entities, international donors, and all other concerned groups and individuals; 3) Mobilize resources that will support communities working to reform education; 4) Scale up successful reform experiences and programs; and 5) Invest in programs that assist advocates of education reforms and help integrate reforms into existing systems.
