The St. Francis Square Foundation, Inc. (SFSFI) is a newly established Foundation that was registered with the SEC on November 3, 2021. It is a faith-based, CSR arm of the Roxas family (unrelated to the Roxases of Araneta Group) group of companies (also known as St. Francis Square Group of Companies) who are into realty and real estate, resort, retail, landholding, school, drugstore and bookstore. The family’s patriarch who is also the Foundation’s Chairman of the Board, Mr. Luke Roxas, however, is a veteran of charity works who started giving out scholarship grants to the students of his own Chinese learning institution, Makati Hope Christian School by as early as the 1990s.
Over the years, as Mr. Roxas grew his business, he leveled up his philanthropy works that he started medical missions in the early 2000s, medicine assistance for senior citizens in 2016, blood donation drive in 2017 and books and school supply in 2022, all of which are anchored on his strong devotion to the tenets of Christian Faith.
During the past year SFSFI’s operation, it has awarded 32 scholarships to select Chinese students of Makati Hope Christian School. Not having any booked donation, program operations are being funded from the Foundation’s initial capitalization. The Board of Trustees (BOT) who are almost the same as the BOT of the affiliate companies , however, vowed to sustain the Foundation’s operational and program funding, especially when the Foundation is able to earn the PCNC badge of Good NGO Standing.
