SCTan Foundation, Inc., registered with the SEC as a non-stock, non-profit corporation on January 9, 1985. It was founded in 1984 in memory of Salvador C. Tan, patriarch of the Tan family. It was dedicated to promoting education and culture by supporting educational institutions & providing scholarships to deserving but underprivileged students. It is a family foundation that is grant-making/grant-giving and partners with other organizations to implement projects. Its main office is located at 2704-B Tektite Tower 1, Exchange Road, San Antonio, Ortigas Center, Pasig City. The foundation does not have a full-time/regular staff but outsources volunteer personnel from the companies owned by the Tan family. There are seven (7) members of the Board of Trustees.
Its purposes, among others, are “to provide scholarship and educational assistance to poor but deserving Filipinos as well as provide training & development of human resources.” The Foundation’s funding support focuses in the areas of education and culture, including infrastructures and scholarships, and when necessary, disaster relief.
