The Philippine S&T Development Foundation – Manila Inc. was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a non-stock, non-profit organization on September 18, 2012 by a group of incorporators who intends “ to create and maintain a foundation for education, research and scientific activities that focus on the long term economic growth for the Philippines by improving the ecosystem of science and technology in the Philippines to cultivate and nurture a community of excellent and dedicated scientists and engineers who can innovate and create high growth global business, partnering with government, business and the academe.”
PhilDev envisions globally competitive technology products and services from the Philippines driven by innovative entrepreneurs focused on inclusive economic growth and job creation.” Its mission, states that “ PhilDev aims to alleviate poverty through education, innovation and entrepreneurship.”
Its programs/projects on education, innovation and entrepreneurship include: scholarships for undergraduate students, visiting professors, research collaborations, application of innovation technologies in education, entrepreneurship workshops, mentorship program and access to funding to start-up entrepreneurs, bootcamps, and trainings, among others.
