The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants Foundation, Inc. was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a non-stock, non-profit organization on December 29, 1981 by a group of professionals who have the desire to see the advancement of the accountancy profession through research and development and improvement in the various fields of accounting practices and procedures and other related sciences. It is a grant-making organization. Its main office is located at PICPA Bldg., 700 Shaw Blvd., Mandaluyong City. The organization has 1 regular staff, 7 volunteers (from PICPA) and 15 members of the Board of Trustees.
Its purposes, among others, are “to sustain the relevance of professional accountants in initiating, promoting and conducting programs, projects and studies on research, development and improvements in the various fields in accountancy; to provide scholarship grants to college students, reviewees and post graduate scholarship and financial assistance to qualified CPAs; and to establish comprehensive strategic resource mobilization plan that will augment funding requirements needed for the pursuit of the Foundation’s programs and projects”. The foundation’s programs focused on the following areas: 1) Research and Development; 2) Professional Development; and 3) Scholarship.
