Petron Foundation, Inc. (PFI) is the corporate social responsibility arm of Petron Corporation, the Philippines’ largest oil refining and marketing company that supplies nearly 40% of the country’s oil requirements. It is a non-stock, non-profit organization registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on July 25, 1996. Through PFI, Petron Corporation brings corporate social responsibility into the mainstream of its operations by integrating social agenda into its business goals. This enables Petron to be a business organization that provides systems-wide and sustainable approaches to the Philippines’ social concerns through the responsive delivery of relevant and effective programs and services, active employee engagements, strategic partnerships, accountability and organization effectiveness, and intensified communications and advocacy programs. All these are aimed at allowing Petron to secure a better future for Filipinos by fueling HOPE: Helping Filipino Children and Youth Overcome Poverty through Education. Its main office is located at San Miguel Head Office Complex, #40 San Miguel Avenue, Mandaluyong City. The Foundation has six (6) regular staff, employee volunteers from Petron Corporation and 7 members of the Board of Trustees.

Its purposes among others, is to research, conduct, organize and finance projects including but not limited to the following fields: 1) Child & Youth Welfare Development; 2) Environmental Law Management; 3) Drug Dependent Rehabilitation; 4) Music & Arts Promotion Development. It also aims to promote, support and finance scholarship programs and activities of training centers for out –of-school youth and of similar institutions for the underprivileged; provide technical, financial or material counterpart assistance to community projects such as livelihood, education, infrastructure, health and sanitation and values formation. The Foundation’s current programs/projects focus on the following: 1. Education (Tulong Aral ng Petron); 2. Environmental Stewardship (Bataan Integrated Coastal Management, Adopt-an Estero/River Program, Bataan Reforestation Program,etc.); 3. Entrepreneurship, and Livelihood; 4. Community Relations (Medical Missions, Disaster Management & Relief Operations; Road Safety/Lakbay Ligtas); 5. Communications & Advocacy (Employee Involvement Fund for Volunteerism Program).
