Pearl S. Buck Foundation, Inc. was registered with the SEC on August 5, 2003 as a non-sectarian, developmental and humanitarian assistance organization. In 2007, it was amended as a non-stock, non-profit organization. It is an operating organization dedicated to improving the quality of life and expanding opportunities for children who are either Amer-Asian, abandoned, orphaned, discriminated or in need of special protection. PSBP is an affiliate organization of Pearl S Buck International which has its main office in Pennsylvania USA. PSBP office is located at 2/ F Richwell Building, #25 Quezon Avenue, Brgy. Lourdes, Quezon City. The Foundation has ten (10) regular staff, one (1) part-time staff, ten (10) volunteers. The Foundation has twelve (12) members of the Board of Trustees.
Its purposes (V-M-G), among others, are “to provide sponsored children with access to education, health, and psycho-social support services for them to achieve and educational level that opens wider opportunities for their future.” PSBP has three (3) major programs: Health which includes basic sanitation and dental; Education with school attendance support and non-formal education support; and Psycho-Social with group development, sponsorship and gifts.
It was granted a 1-year certification for donee institution status by PCNC on September 07, 2004 which ended on June 06, 2005. The organization renewed its certification and was given a 3-year certification on October 19, 2010 which ended on August 25, 2013.
