The Pag-asa Social Center Foundation, Inc. (PSCFI) is a non-governmental organization based in Tagaytay. It is one of the social expressions of the Focolare Movement, a lay association present in 182 countries all over the world. Through this Social Center, the Movement extends educational, basic medical and nutritional assistance to a number of children from many indigent families in many barangays in Tagaytay. At the same time, it also offers a human and spiritual formation to contribute to their development as self-sufficient, responsible, and productive members of the family and the community. As a result, these families are led into a closer relationship with God and with one another
Pag-asa was born in 1997. It is a fruit of the “Support at a distance” program of the international New Families Movement, which has its center in Rome, and various other groups and individuals in Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, and many other countries. From its humble beginning of a handful of volunteers, teachers, and youngsters, using the stockroom of a carpentry shop, Pag-asa Social Center has grown. It has several staff members and has acquired a whole building, which is being equipped with a variety of facilities.
