Benigno S. Aquino Foundation, Inc. was registered with the SEC as a non-stock, non-profit corporation on November 7, 1983. It was founded after the assassination of the former Senator Benigno Aquino. When the Former President Corazon C. Aquino died in 2009, the Aquino family reconstituted the BSAF Board and applied for an amendment of its Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws to change its official name. In February 8, 2010, the SEC approved the change of its name to Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation, Inc. (NCAF). It is a family, operating, and fundraising organization. Its main office is located at 7/F Jose Cojuangco & Sons Building, 119 Dela Rosa corner Castro Streets, Legaspi Village Makati City. The foundation has a regular staff of 9, full time volunteer of 1, and 7 members of the Board of Trustees.
It was first certified for 3 years on May 14, 2002 which ended on May 13, 2005. On its renewal, it was certified for 5 years on April 6, 2006 which ended on April 5, 2011. On its second renewal, the Foundation was certified for another 5 years on March 29, 2012 which ended on March 15, 2017.
NCAF envisions itself as a center founded on the leadership legacies of the late Sen. Benigno S. Aquino, Jr. and late President Corazon C. Aquino that inspires and molds generations of Filipinos gounded on the transformative values of self-sacrifice and self-transcendence in service to humanity.
The Foundation’s programs now focus on the following areas: Legacy and Advocacy Promotion, Formation; scholarship program; Fundraising and Grant making and Networking.
