The Malampaya Foundation, Inc. (MFI) is duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), as a non-stock, non-profit corporation on December 28, 2005. It is the implementing arm for the social development programs of the Malampaya Joint Venture Partners: Shell Philippines Exploration B.V. (SPEX); Chevron Malampaya LLC and; The Philippine National Oil Company-Exploration Corporation. Its main office is located at 22/F Asian Star Bldg., Asean Drive Filinvest Corporate City, Alabang Muntinlupa City. The Foundation has 2 regular staff, 1 contractual staff, 15 project-based staff, and 6 members of the Board of Trustees.
Its purposes (V-M-G), among others, are: ???‰???to be the model and leading foundation in the upstream energy sector by promoting, fostering and encouraging sustainable social, environmental and economic development of communities in areas where they operate, to promote, foster and encourage the sustainable social, environmental and economic development of communities in the areas where they operate, and to improve food security, establish income generating activities, further educational and skills training opportunities and to promote sustainable and responsible use of natural resources for beneficiary communities???‰???. The Foundation???‰??‹?s program/project is now focused on Livelihood and Enterprise Building, Skills Training and Employment Generation, Community safety, Health, Education, Marine Biodiversity, Community-based Waste and environment management. Geographical scope of programs: Batangas City, Oriental Mindoro, Puerto Princesa City and Palawan.
Its sources of income include donations from Service Contract 38 Malampaya Joint Venture Partners. Total donations received for the year 2011 is P55,321,577.00 Its approved budget for the year 2012 is P51,242,135.00.
