The Katipunan ng Mamayan ng Bagong Pilipinas Foundation, Inc. was registered with the SEC as a non-stock, non-profit corporation on March 5, 2015. It is a spin-off of the Katipunan ng Mamamayan ng Bagong Parañaque, which is a membership organization, with the primary purpose of uplifting the lives of the urban poor. Its main office is located at 2nd Floor Corporate Center, Aseana Powerstation Bldg. D, Macapagal Blvd. cor. Bradco Avenue, Parañaque City. The Foundation has five (5) regular staff, eleven (11) volunteers, and nine (9) members of the Board of Trustees.
Its purposes (V-M-G), among others, are “to promote human development of the people who are poor and marginalized especially the urban poor in order to alleviate their cause through trainings, education, livelihood programs; to provide opportunities for the people in need to improve the quality of their lives through efficient management of resources and to provide livelihood trainings, non-formal education projects and scholarship assistance.” The Foundation’s programs/projects now focus on the following areas:
- Rice Distribution
- Medical and Burial
- Scholarship Program
- English Enhancement Program
- Referrals for job opportunities
The organization operates in the barangays of Parañaque City. Its sources of revenue largely come from the donations of individuals and corporations, namely, the family of Mr. Delfin Wencesalo, the Philippine Constructors Association, Inc. and TOA Corporation, Inc. The Foundation received total donations of Php1,261,283 in 2015. The organization has an approved budget of Php6,476,000.00 for the year 2016.
