The Kapatiran-Kaunlaran Foundation, Inc. (KKFI) was registered with the SEC as a non-stock, non-profit corporation on October 8, 1971 by a group of incorporators to implement programs and services for social welfare and development. It used to be the United Methodist Church Social Center. Its main office is located at 937 P. Paredes St., Sampaloc, Manila. The foundation has 33 regular staff, 50 volunteers, and 15 members of the Board of Trustees.
It was certified for 5 years on October 1, 2001 to September 30, 2006. It was granted another 5-year certification on April 4, 2007 and which ended on April 3, 2012. It took them almost 4 years to renew its PCNC Certification for donee status because their Board thought back then that they don’t need it since about 85-90 % of its funds come from internally generated income and only about 10- 15% come from donations. However, last year some donors started asking for it so they re-applied.
Its purposes, among others, are “to respond to the challenge to work among and with the poor to bring about total genuine human development”. The Foundation’s programs now focus on the following areas: Social Services, Capability-Building/Education & Training, Disaster Risk Reduction & Management, and Support Facilities.
Geographical scope of programs: Manila, Quezon City, Pasay, Malabon and Navotas and the province of Bulacan.
