PIC-IDC is a faith-based, non-government organization registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission. JPIC-IDC was started in the early 1990s by two Divine Word Missionaries, Fr. Heinz Kulueke and Fr. Maximo Abalos who journeyed with the poor and marginalized sectors in Cebu City. Being members of the administration team of the University of San Carlos (USC) in Cebu City, they brought the activities of the Community Extension Services (CES) of the university from the occasional charitable activities into a “programmed, sustainable and liberative approach to development”. In 1999, the SVD priests, brothers, religious sisters, and lay partners organized Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation – Integrated Development Center (JPIC-IDC).
JPIC-IDC believes in the holistic development of persons in their communities so that they will be able to carve the kind of development they can pursue.
