The IPI Foundation, Inc. (formerly Don Go Lam Foundation, Incorporated) founded by the Castillo-Wong family, Cebu’s prominent Filipino-Chinese industrialists. It is a non-stock, non-profit organization duly registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission on April 28, 1993 by a group of incorporators who were interested in assisting disadvantaged groups develop greater participation in their future. It is a Corporate Social Responsibility of International Pharmaceuticals Inc. (IPI). Its main office is located at Golam Drive, Pope John Paul II Avenue, Kasambagan, Cebu City. The foundation has 6 regular staff, 50 volunteers, and 7 members of the Board of Trustees.
It was first certified for 1 year on November 17, 2009 and which ended on November 16, 2010. First Renewal was granted for 1year on April 7, 2011 which ended on March 2, 2012. Second Renewal was granted for 3 years on September 24, 2012 and was ended on August 25, 2015.
Its purposes among others, are to “make a Foundation a catalyst in healing; to heal the world by empowering marginalized people to practice health and wellness; to support vulnerable communities in improving access to health, environment, aid services and strengthening community-based livelihoods; to support initiatives intended to foster public wellness; and to develop partnership with related institutions to enhance IPI Foundation Inc.’s technical and logistic capacity”. The Foundation’s programs focused on the following areas: (1) Health (Medical/Dental Mission, Share a Wheelchair, Healthcare Relief and Wellness); (2) Environment (Share a Latrine, Community-based Bamboo Products, Sustainable Organic Container Gardening); (3) Aid (Share a Tent, Adopt-a-School, Share a Roof, Educational Aid); and (4) Livelihood (Trash to Crafts, Fish Processing, Great Hands Project). Geographical scope of areas: Cebu, Leyte and Tacloban.
