The International Bazaar Foundation, Inc. (IBF) was initiated in 1966 by Mrs. Angela Valdes-Ramos, wife of then Secretary of Foreign Affairs Narciso Ramos. It was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a non-stock, non-profit corporation on April 26, 1995. The International Bazaar, is a special project of the ladies of the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Diplomatic and Consular Corps, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, other government agencies and the private sector. It is an annual fundraising event and a much awaited one as goods provided by the Diplomatic and Consular Corps (an average of 40 countries participating members) as well as by local concessionaires are sold. A global shopping experience while providing services to local communities through the capital generated, sharing one mission of alleviating suffering and misery by improving the lives of the underprivileged and less fortunate. It is a grant making organization. Its main office is located at 6/F, Special Projects Unit, Department of Foreign Affairs, 2330 Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City. The foundation has 3 regular staff, seven (7) seconded staff and 9 members of the Board of Trustees.
It was certified for 1 year on September 15, 2014 which ended on August 07, 2015.
Its purposes, among others, are “to help change the lives of the marginalized sectors of society by generating capital and providing services that contribute to the health and well-being of the communities they serve; to provide scholarship grants to deserving indigent students, support for the elderly, abused and abandoned children and victims of natural disaster”. The Foundation’s programs focused on Education, Abused & Abandoned, Elderly, Medical and Disaster Relief. Geographical scope of programs: Luzon and Metro Manila.
