The Hands On Manila Foundation, Inc. was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a non-stock, non-profit corporation on September 10, 2001, to empower individuals to act as citizens and realize their ability to contribute to the community in meaningful ways by providing a variety of flexible tangible volunteer opportunities and seeks to enhance citizen capacity to effectively serve the community. It also organizes volunteer activities for corporations as part of its corporate employee volunteer program. It is the first international affiliate of the Hands on Network outside the US. Its main office is located at Unit 211 La Fuerza Plaza Building, Sabio St. corner Chino Roces Street, Makati City. The Foundation has 5regular staff,1 part-time staff and 7 members of the Board of Trustees.
It was certified for 3 years on December 13, 2004 which had lapsed on December 12, 2007. On July 6, 2009, the Foundation was granted a 3-year certification and which ended July 5, 2012. On July 29, 2013, it was granted another 3-year certification which lapsed on June 11, 2016.
Its purposes, among others, are “to provide flexible volunteer opportunities for community service in Metro Manila by recruiting, coordinating and educating a broad base of volunteers for non-profit organizations; to provide a roadblock–free path to service; to provide meaningful experiences that clearly make a difference; and encourages an even greater sense of responsibility, caring and awareness in those who come to know the life-changing power of getting involved”. The Foundation’s programs focused on the following areas: Volunteer Recruitment and Management, Resource Mobilization, and Advocacy and Networking, Hands On School Galing Mo Kid (GMK) Program and Servathon (Service Marathon).
