The GT–Metro Foundation, Inc. (GTMF) was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a non-stock, non-profit corporation on October 7, 2009. It is the family foundation of George Ty, incorporated with the purpose of promoting a culture of good health and wellness among the less privileged by providing grants in various forms to its primary benefactors (institutions) that undertake projects upgrading healthcare services and advancing medical knowledge. Its main office is located at the 4th Floor, Metrobank Plaza, Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue, Makati City. The Foundation has 5 regular staff, 4 part-time staff and 9 members of the Board of Trustees.
It was certified for one (1) year on November 15, 2010 and which ended on September 30, 2011. Its certification was renewed for 3 years on November 18, 2011 and which ended on October 7, 2014.
Its purposes (V-M-G), among others are, “to become one of the leading advocates in the Philippines with social investments in healthcare and wellness and to support institutions with advocacy along this line for the good of the general public and the less privileged”. The Foundation’s programs/projects among others, focus on the following areas: Eyeglass Donation “Salamin para sa maliwanag na bukas”, Doña Victoria Tytana Memorial Lecture, In-House Surgical Missions at the Manila Doctors Hospital, Medical Research, healthy lifestyle promotion, environmental initiatives, calamity assistance, grant-giving initiatives, and legacy projects.
