Abot Kamay, Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit corporation duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on October 26, 1990. Founded by a group of civic-oriented Filipinos in October 1990, Abot Kamay, Inc. (also known as Manila Sponsorship Operating Agency (SOA) of Children International). Its main office is located in Blk. 10, Lot 19, Skylark St., Zabarte Subdivision, Barangay Kaligayahan, Novaliches, Quezon City. The foundation has 50 regular staff, 21 project-based staff, 287 volunteers and 8 members of the Board of Trustees.
It was certified for 5 years on May 5, 2005 and has applied for renewal of certification. Total donations received for the year 2011 is P106,111,178.00.
Its purposes, among others, are: “to raise the children and youth it serves to be healthy and educated individuals through its sponsorship programs; that they will grow into productive adults, be agents of change and uplift themselves from poverty”. Core programs on health and education are administered to relieve the families it serves of the financial strains so that they can meet their basic needs.
