The Angelo King Foundation Inc. (AKFI) was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a non-stock, non-profit corporation on September 20, 1978 to institutionalize the various funding assistance of its founder and Chairman, Angelo King. It is a grant making foundation which helps organizations provide opportunities to those who want to improve their lives.
Its main office is located at 2/F King’s Court Bldg. I, 2129 Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City. The foundation has 1 regular staff (seconded), 5 volunteers, and 11 members of the Board of Trustees.
It was first certified for 3 years on April 20, 2004 and which ended on April 19, 2007. On its first renewal, it was accredited for 5 years on July 23, 2007 and which ended on July 22, 2012. For its 2nd renewal, it was again granted a 5- year certification on September 26, 2012 which ended on August 24, 2017.
Its purposes, among others, are “to provide financial and management assistance to NGOs, People’s Organizations for them to become catalysts in attaining self-reliance and empowerment among their members; to provide financial assistance to institutions which seek to develop leaders and development workers who have the vision and commitment to work for a better quality of life; to support learning institutions that ensure, encourage and sustain self-employment and source of income among indigent families”. The Foundation’s programs now focus on giving grants to partner NGOs.
