Adarna Group Foundation, Inc. (AGFI) was incorporated with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on February 14, 2013 as a non-stock, non-profit organization. It is an operating Foundation initiated by the Founder and owner of Adarna House Publishing, Ms. Emelina Almario. Like its affiliates, Adarna House, a publisher of books and educational materials and The Raya School, a progressive school, AGFI works in the field of Education. AGFI’s work is premised on the incorporators’ concern for all Filipino children, a strong love of country, and the belief that literacy of the country’s citizens is the key element in the country’s growth. The Foundation is located at 109 Scout Fernandez Cor. Scout Torillo Sts. Barangay Sacred Heart, Quezon City. AGFI has two (2) regular staff, nine (9) regular volunteers from the Adarna House and six (6) members of the Board of Trustees.
It was first certified for one year on June 5, 2015 which ended on September 17, 2015. On its 1st renewal, it was certified for 3 years on August 24, 2015 which ended on August 23, 2018.
AGFI envisions that every Filipino child is literate. Its purposes (V-M-G), among others, are “to promote early literacy among Filipino children, ages 0-4, in partnership with parents, LGUs and the communities”. The Foundation has four core programs: Unang Aklat; Barangay Early Literacy Program (BELP); Read sa RHU; and Unang Aklatan.
