Unilab Ideas Positive (UIP) was launched in 2010 as a youth engagement program under the Corporate Affairs of Unilab. It aimed to harness the energy and enthusiasm of the youth to contribute to nation-building. For its first and second run, Ideas Positive was open to college students from the National Capital Region (NCR) and CALABARZON. The best teams received awards based on the merits of their proposals. Seed money was provided thereafter to implement the winning projects. In 2014, the program was renamed Ideas Positive and officially turned over to Unilab Foundation which became one of the Foundation’s key programs in its goal of building a healthier Philippines. With the growing number of youth involved and engaged by the program, the Ideas Positive Alumni Community (IPAC) was established to ensure continuous alumni engagement.
In 2019, IPAC established the Positive Youth Development Network, a non-profit organization that enables youth organizations to work together in building a better Philippines for all. Positive Youth Development Network (PYDN) was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on February 26, 2019. It became the pioneering youth and accrediting network dedicated to building courageous, creative, compassionate young Filipinos and youth organizations responsible to the evolving needs and opportunities in the Country. PYDN builds the knowledge and expertise of the youth organizations in implementing programs as well as collaborating with local and global partners with a common goal to improve the people’s quality of life.
