The Negrense Volunteers for Change Foundation, Inc. (NVCFI) was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a non-stock, non-profit organization on August 20, 2010 by a group of incorporators who believe in creating positive change for the country by harnessing the power of individuals to help effect change in themselves and in their communities. NVCFI growth has accelerated to cover 32 provinces where either of its nutrition, education or livelihood programs have touched base. Its main office is located at M-13H Cybercenter Bldg., Lacson St., Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. The foundation has 16 regular staff, 1 part-time staff, 2 project-based staff, 28 regular volunteers and 9 members of the Board of Trustees.
It was first certified for 1 year on September 24, 2012 and which ended on August 24, 2013. They applied for renewal and was evaluated on November 13, 2013, however, they were not able to comply with the urgent concerns of the team since they were busy in responding with the Typhoon Yolanda which badly hit the Visayas Region. On June 14, 2016 it re-applied for PCNC Certification as a first time applicant and was certified for 1 year on September 29, 2016 and which ended on October 11, 2017.
Its purposes (V-M-G), among others, are “to be a nation free from hunger and poverty, built through personal social responsibility and collaborative partnerships; to fight hunger and poverty by providing proper nutrition, access to quality education for children of the poor and sustainable livelihood opportunities for their parents; and to create sustainable programs that address malnutrition and poverty”. The foundation’s programs/projects focused on the following areas: 1) Education (classroom building, distribution of school supplies); 2) Nutrition (Mingo Meals-a nutritious instant complementary food made of rice, monggo and malunggay); 3) Livelihood and 4) Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation. Geographical scope of programs: Negros Island, Visayas & Mindanao.
